"We do not have processing errors, we have a different operating system"

Being neurodivergent refers to those who have neurological functioning that deviates from what is considered typical or "neurotypical." Neurodivergence recognizes the diversity in brain functioning and suggests that certain neurological differences should not be considered as disorders or impairments, but asnatural variations in human neurology.

Neurodivergence can include conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Asperger's, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, dyscalculia, Tourette syndrome, and other neurological differences. Neurodivergent people may experience challenges in communication, social interaction, attention, memory, learning, and other areas, but they may also have unique abilities and strengths that result from their brain differences.

The concept of neurodiversity is based on the idea thatthese differences in brain function are not inherently negative, but simply represent a diversity in the way people think, learn and relate to the world.

Accepting and supporting neurodivergent people can help them live fulfilling lives and make the most of their abilities and talents. These differences in information processing can create challenges in communication and social interaction, but can also provide unique advantages and perspectives in many areas of life.
